Our Philosophy

The Library/Media program of the Middletown School District promotes students' love of reading and appreciation of quality literature, while teaching information and computer literacy skills through the integration of the curriculum at all levels and disciplines.

Our mission is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. In order to accomplish this, we must provide intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats. The hands-on use of technology is emphasized to instruct and prepare students and staff as new learning methods present themselves.

By providing resources and activities that contribute to lifelong learning and through a partnership among the students, their teachers, the librarian, administration, parents, and other caregivers, the Library/Media program strives to develop individuals who will be able to successfully meet the challenges of the 21st Century.
