Cookie Cottage
The Cookie Cottage is a real working store at Truman
Moon. It is the first Early Childhood project of its
kind in the state of New York. The Cookie Cottage was
developed by Mrs. DiDio as a learning tool for her
students. The Keebler Company is the School-to-Work
sponsor and the children actually run the store and develop
many new skills doing so. Their jobs include: ordering; stocking
shelves; tracking income and expenditures. The
children wear a uniform consisting of aprons, white
collars, ties and a name tag identifying their job
functions. They are Keebler Company and Truman Moon's
"Hollow Tree Primary Elves."
