Welcome to Truman Moon

Truman Moon is a primary center of approximately 400 students in kindergarten and first grade.

We have a warm, comfortable waiting area for visitors in our main lobby: soft couches; warm pillows; and coffee table reading atop a lovely braided rug. Curtains; canopies; flower boxes; and colorful flags serve to complete the welcoming décor!  A bi-level reading loft and computer bank enhance our library. Science lab equipment is a fine addition to multicultural magnet programs.

Truman Moon's computer lab boasts computers for student use. Every teacher in our building is connected to the Internet in their classroom.  Art, music and physical education classes are “specials” that the children particularly enjoy and excel in!  Their experiences using sight, sound and movement teach problem solving strategies and higher order thinking skills that enhance confidence and learning across all curriculum areas.


 

Our staff utilizes developmentally appropriate teaching strategies aimed at providing instructional programs aligned with the NYS Learning Standards and which are meaningful and relevant to life in our Middletown community.
