SEPTEMBER 2009—Middletown City Schools commemorated the eighth anniversary of 9/11 on Friday with district-wide moments of silence, in memory of those lost in the attacks, and a variety of activities centered around Patriot Day.

At Monhagen Middle School chorus members sang, while students at Mechanicstown Elementary School showed their patriotism by wearing red, white and blue. Other schools around our district including Maple Hill and Chorley Elementary Schools, Twin Towers Middle School and Middletown High School commemorated 9/11 during morning announcements and with various classroom activities throughout the day.
