JUNE 2008—The
annual Monhagen Idol Talent and Fashion show, held on June 6,
brought out students, parents, family and friends, along
with district teachers and staff.
The winners were as
follows: Tanya Roe, Shantel Li-Bron, Chekesa Hampton,
Tuwanya Barrett, Tatiana Colon, MonaeDrake, Jonnee
Bartolomei, and Alaysia Brown, Kayvon and Daquan Burley,
Lisa Broughton, Cierra Cunningham, Charlene Jackson, Lachae
Ray, and Kenneth Arenas.
A total of
$2500 was raised at the event to support Camp Kiwanis. Special thanks to Monhagen Idol Talent and Fashion show's
director Samuel
Thomas and producer Natacha Wilson.

JUNE
2008—Monhagen
Middle School's Annual Awards Banquet was held on June 2, at
the school, and honored about 30 eighth graders for their
outstanding efforts this year.

MAY
2008—On May
29, Monhagen Middle School hosted New York State’s Chief
Legal Officer and the Attorney General Andrew Cuomo as part of a community forum.
The public, from over
Orange County, was invited to discuss some important issues
as part of the forum that are affecting
our local community and state like: Civil Rights, Internet
safety, and student loans.
"It was a privilege and
honor to have
Mr. Cuomo visit and address our community and we hope you
were one of the many who came out to listen to the
distinguished speakers who presented to our community," said
school administration.
