Social Studies Department
The purpose of the
Social Studies department programs is to provide
students with a coordinated and systematic study of the
social sciences and provide skills necessary to
participate in the global and interdependent world in
which we live.
In a comprehensive study of
anthropology, archaeology, economics, geography,
history, law, philosophy, political science, and
sociology, students will be asked to demonstrate the
ability to analyze, synthesize, and evaluate historical
and present issues and events. The programs incorporate
interdisciplinary materials and skills through the
integration of the humanities, arts, sciences and
technology.
