Elementary Summer
Institute back on—start
date Monday, July 14
JUNE 2008—The
Middletown City School District is excited to inform you
that the Elementary Summer Institute (ESI) program has been
approved and will start Monday, July 14.
On
Thursday, July 3, the Commissioner of the
State Education Department (SED) reinstated Elementary
Summer Institute funding for Middletown. As a result, the
district is able to once again provide summer school
services to our elementary at risk students as originally
planned.

Mid-City to host open house for all incoming Pre-K
and kindergarten students
JUNE 2008—Mid-City
will host an open house on August 22 and 29 from 10
a.m.-noon for all incoming Pre-K and kindergarten
students.
This is a great opportunity for
all Pre-K and kindergarten students to get on a bus,
meet a driver, take photos and learn about riding the
school bus safely before the first day of school.
Open houses will be held at
518 Rte 17M (North St.), Middletown.

JUNE 2008—Middletown City School District has been
designated as a Contract for Excellence (C4E) School
District by New York State. As part of our requirements, as
a C4E district, we must spend a portion of our state aid,
specifically
$1,501,722
million, on new programs and innovations in 2008-09.
We are required by law to present our plan and request
public commentary. Click
