AOL @ School–System 80–Interactive Lessons for students-This Web site is a great resource for elementary English Language Arts (ELA). System 80 has several free lessons that you can use due to a partnership with AOL @ School (Grades 2-5).

Daily Buzzword-Word Central is the place on the Internet where kids can learn how much fun words can be! This site was developed with input from teachers around the country using a language arts curriculum framework. We hope you enjoy it and find it helpful. Edugame-There are six interactive ELA activities on this Web site.  They include: Wacky Web Tales (this is like Mad Libs) where students enter parts of speech; there's also a part of speech primer; Power Proofreading, where students are editors and must edit short scripts for a television show; and Fake Out, where students attempt to guess the definition of a word.  There are also math and geography games here (K-6).

Everyday Spelling-The more students write, the better spellers they become. Writing prompts encourage the integration of spelling, proofreading, and writing. Use these writing prompts for additional ideas for writing and spelling practice (K-8).

Favorite Poem-Favorite Poem project was founded by Robert Pinksy and is dedicated to celebrating, documenting, and promoting the role that poetry plays in our lives.  There are 50 short videos where individual Americans read and speak about the poems they love.  There is a section where there are lesson plans listed by grade level that were written by teachers for use with this Web site.  There is even a section that has tips for hosting a poetry event in your school. 

FunBrain Word Activities-This direct link from www.funbrain.com concentrates on vocabulary; grammar; parts of speech; translator; and more activities for students to assist with their literacy skills (Grades K-6).

FunBrain-Grammar Gorillas-Educational activity that helps students identify the parts of speech.   

Game Goo–Game Goo is a Web site that provides fun, 'stick with you' educational activities that help develop early reading skills identified as important language arts blocks by curriculum standards. Each of the activities on this site are interactive and engaging (Pre-K-2).

Grammar Corner-This site offers grammar exercises, quizzes, and rules (Grades 5-8).

Learning Vocabulary Can Be Fun-A vocabulary-oriented site that is educational, fun, and simple to use.  This site has something for everyone (K-3).

Literacy Rules-Literacy Rules provides links to a visual thesaurus; rhyming
dictionary; webquests; poetry; and author profiles.

Literature Learning Ladders-Literature learning ladders encourages reading through book-technology connections.  This site features literature resources and activities for teachers; literature technology lessons; literature circles; reading based webquests; Caldecott & Newbery Technology connections; and more (3-12).

The Magic Key–This Web site from the BBC offers interactive lessons on grammar and vocabulary.  This site works great with the SMART Board (Grades K-5).

Online English Grammar-This site offers grammar; writing; and punctuation tips; and online quizzes (Grades 6-12). 

Reading is Fundamental–Poetry Splatter-Writing poems has never been so much fun. Using Poetry Splatter is easy. Students simply choose a poem title from a list. When they see their poem frame, they fill in the blanks with words that are spattered onto the screen.

Rhyme Zone–Rhyme Zone site features an interactive rhyming dictionary where you can type in a word and get its rhymes, synonyms, definitions, and more (K-12).

SAT Preparation-An educational Web site to help high school students prepare for the vocabulary section of the new SAT exam. The site is also useful to anyone that would like to improve their English vocabulary. There are over 3,000 multiple choice questions divided into 21 groups. There is also a database browser to review and print the questions and the correct answers.

Star graphic.Starfall.com-Learn to Read–The Starfall learn-to-read Web site is an excellent way to inspire students with a love of reading and writing.  The  site features phonics activities, online interactive stories, and much more (K-2).

School House Tech-Students love word searches. With Word Search Factory, you can add a little word search fun and motivation to their regular lessons in any subject area. Word Search Factory is designed to help you quickly and easily create professional looking word search puzzles to provide your students with the extra vocabulary and spelling practice they need in a format that they find enjoyable.  Click on the right side of the screen to download Word Search Factory Light (FREE version) to begin creating customized word searches. 

Webster-Guide to grammar and writing—This site is dedicated to helping users with grammatical issues, tips on composition, and advice on English usage (5-12).

Wordsmith–This Web site is helpful for studying.  It will create an anagram for you (Grades 5-12).
